Chihiro Onitsuka - "Infection"

As some of you may be aware, I am a fan of Japanese music. This all stemmed from Final Fantasy X, where I heard "Suteki Da Ne" by Rikki. I absolutely loved the song and started to research other Final Fantasy songs, and since then I've been hooked. I discovered YouTube when it just about started and came across a Japanese artist called Chihiro Onitsuka. She has...unique voice, shall we say. For the most part she does actually have a good voice apart from when she goes nasally sometimes, but I think that can be forgiven.

This is the first song I ever heard from her and it's called "Infection", complete with English Subtitles.

What I love about the song is the tune/melody...it just sounds so sad, and those high piano notes remind me of raindrops or tears falling. I also love the lyrics because they're so descriptive and emotional, and it can be interpretated differently. Does she mean a real infection or is the infection Love? It's up to you.

I definitely love the video, it's very cinematic. I love how the place they're at represents her state of mind (empty, lonely, maze like) but can also show that she's been taken somewhere because of her mental state. I love the disorientated camera work to signify panic, anxiety and confusion. I love her reflection in the mirror, as if to say that she's trying to find herself but isn't sure of who she is or what she sees. I love how she walks around blindly.
I'm not entirely sure what the women in black could represent. I'd love to hear your views!

I hope you all like this song. I think it's beautiful and very moving.
