Being a fan of Britney (don't mess!) I regularly read the fansite "Breatheheavy" which is run by Jordan Miller.
Sometimes he will post some paparazzi videos and usually I don't watch them because the content isn't normal and it disturbs me. However, this time I watched one of the videos and I was...well, disturbed.
It's a video of Britney, Jason and her two sons coming out of a movie theatre and a crowd of photographers were there to greet them. Britney held her son Jayden and he - the boy of about 2 years old - repeatedly told the photographers to "stop". That says a lot. The environment he lives in isn't normal.
The photographer kept asking questions, like "Do you think Jason is a good dad?", "How does it feel to have Jason take you to a movie?", "How's your day going, Britney?"
What stupid and innappropriate questions. It's their job, I know, but it's a disgusting job. And listen to the tone of his voice - he doesn't care about Britney, he sounds completely bored and you know he's only doing it for the money. And then he starts complaining to the bodyguards (or whoever they are) telling them to "calm down, you got kids right here."
Hello? You're impeding in their lives unnecessarily! They are kids and they need to be protected. Britney is just being a mother. This does not need to be photographed or videoed. She's being normal with her kids so leave her alone!
"Stop!"
Listen to the kid.
I know the paprazzi win if I post the video, because obviously all they want are views and reactions, but I want to give my readers a choice. Watch it if you want, you don't have to, but watching it did leave a sour taste in my mouth and it is quite saddening that this has become "normal" and "a reality" for Britney Spears and those around her. Who blames her for going crazy when her life has practically been sold?
My blog is about the stuff I have done, whether it be drawings or events I have gone to. Life is about what you do with it and I'd like to share my adventures with you, share my opinions with you, and share my work with you. I'm a sharing kinda person, see.

It's Britney, bitch.
If you've been following me from the beginning you'll have known that I draw.
I'm a self-taught artist and I'm still learning. Heck - I don't know how to paint, so I stick to pencils, sometimes watercolour pencils (how do you use them? Not a clue, I make it up as I go along...) and sometimes chalk and charcoal.
I've also liked Britney since she released her first single "...Baby One More Time" and I've never actually drawn her, so I figured it was about time I did.
I used the colour and black and white image of this picture to copy:

These are my step by step pictures.

So the eyes were practically done, and I was pretty pleased with them.
Next was the lips, and as you can probably tell I had difficulty with the shape. Once I thought it was correct, I started to use my watercolour pencils (red and black) to try and give that "Dark Hollywood Glamour" feel to it, but it was disasterous. Trying to blend watercolour pencils before applying water is a very difficult thing to do...there were too many lines and just looked plain awful. I tried using the water on top to see if it would improve but it didn't improve at all, just looked messy.
I then used a normal colouring pencil that was of a berry colour to try and go over it a little bit (the black kinda took over a bit) and I thought my picture was completely tarnished.
I used Tippex to give the lips a shine to them, and used a red manga pen to go over it and give the lips some lines on the bottom lip.
And thank God as well, as I believe it saved my picture.
I also used watercolour pencils to colour in the eyes.

And the final piece...

It took me about 3 hours. I know it's not perfect, but hope you like it nonetheless.

Rating 2009
2009 was definitely an epic year for me. I grew up a lot, matured, spread my wings a bit further and gained a bit more independence.
I did a lot of things:
- Saw Wicked, the musical
- Did a fan video to the Mika song "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)"
- Did a dance show
- Went to a Mika concert (first time on my own), was on stage with him, met him for the first time and got my first autograph.
- Went on holiday to Egypt
- Saw my first ever idol on stage for the first time - Britney Spears (Yeah, I see some of you rolling your eyes!)
- Went to the Pub with Mika/Saw him at Popstarz/Received Free IceCream from him/saw him on the Paul O'Grady Show/Got to see him in concert for FREE/saw him on Jools Holland and was also on TV!
- Saw Jimmy Carr live
- Saw Mika at The Union Chapel
- Met some of the cast from Harry Potter
- Was in the audience for The Graham Norton Show
- Improved my Art
...I think that's it. I have done so much and I regret nothing this year. Nothing at all. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Not a sausage. (I don't regret anyway, everything happens for a reason in my opinion, but for me the good reeeaaaally outweighed the bad...and there were bad moments, don't get me wrong. The year didn't exactly start off greatly.)
But anyway, I digress. 2009 made me realise that I need to start standing on my own two feet, to think for myself and to start living for myself.
For 2010, I hope to have another job (one that actually pays well) and to do some work experience in magazines. I'd love to just go to events and write about them.
Life's about making stories, you know? I want to make something of my life, and I want stories to tell my children and my grand-children, and just people in general. I want people to know me, smile and say "You know what? She didn't care what people thought about her. She did what she wanted with no regrets and without looking back. She was her own person, she was strong and she knew what she wanted. She went places, saw things and did things that not many people can say they have done. She loved doing what she did and I admire her for that. I really respect her."
(I think if someone actually said that to me, I might just die.)
My eldest sister is a professional dancer, and because of her job it has led her to travel the world: America, China, Dubai, India, Baltics, Caribbean, Mediterranean, you name it. I admire, respect and look up to her so much. Ever since she was little she knew what she wanted and look what she's achieved! She isn't even 30 yet. Nothing ever stopped her, and she's always full of interesting stories! (How many people can say they've performed on the same stage Hitler gave his speeches in Poland? ...Exactly.)
That's what I want (Not to perform on the same stage as Hitler, that might be a tad creepy for me) but to just...do something. And travel.
This is why I love taking photos and making videos...they're my memories, and memories are precious to me.
I'll be celebrating New Years in London watching the Fireworks, plus I'll be going to The Bafta's next year. PLUS more Mika concerts! Who knows what 2010 has in store? Hopefully it can only get better...2009 is a hard year to top!
Happy New Year readers...what are your resolutions?
